Kelantan

KELANTAN is known as the “Cradle of Malay Culture”. The Kelantanese have kept alive their rich traditions and customs, giving the State an old-world charm. Kelantan is not only renowned for its batik cloth production but is a thriving centre of cultural arts like Wayang Kulit, Dikir Barat, Mak Yong and Rebana Ubi. It is also famous for the traditional sports of kite-flying and top-spinning.

Pantai Cahaya Bulan (Beach Of Moonlight) Formerly known as the Beach of Passionate Love, this is a picture post card beach. Tall casuarina trees fringe the beach providing shade and a grassy verge which gives way to tall swaying coconut palms. Comfortable chalets are available at the beach.

State Mosque
Construction of this mosque was completed during the reign of Sultan Ismail IV after almost a decade of work. Also known as the Al-Muhammadi Mosque or the ‘Brick Mosque’, it is the centre for Islamic missionary activities in the state.
